Kumail Hussain is a 3rd year medical student from Chicago and he is not a typical medical student that you will come across. You will not see Kumail stressed out with study pressures, surrounded by books at all times or studying day and night. One of the best things that he has done in his life is manage his time, and conquer his productivity. Having complete control of life has enabled him to streamline his studies and business.
Belonging to a humble background, Kumail grew up facing financial issues and decided to make a living out of his knowledge through social media. He has built his personal brand which provides free and accessible content on social media on Instagram, Tik Tok, Medium and also a weekly newsletter.
“My content is centered on helping students and self-learners learn how to study effectively, manage their time, prioritize their mental health, improve their mindset, understand the basics of finance, show my life in medicine, and a sprinkle of comedy! I’m trying to help this population get the most out of life and teach them the things you never actually learn in school!”
A business that started as a side hustle, Kumail has accomplished wonders in such a short time and all while being a super busy medical student. He says, “I went against the grain to create this online business. My peers, family, and other professionals doubted me. But my own circumstances and challenges are the reason I created this online business.”
As a content creator, Kumails honest depiction of his true self and his knowledge of medical science has helped him give off an authentic vibe. He uses many of the things that he learned in medical school to create content for his personal brand. “All the tips and advice come from science and research which I experienced a lot as a medical student. And I want to continue educating people on these topics even as a doctor! A lot of what I created is based on my own journey into medical school while facing a difficult childhood.”
His content has been a source of inspiration for students to pursue medicine or a related grad school. And he cannot help but love each moment of it. As he says, “If I help just one person change their mindset or inspire them to chase their dreams, then I feel I’m making a positive difference.”
