Naida Mehanović Aims to Revolutionize the Public Sector of Bosnia and Herzegovina

The public sector plays a significant role in the economic development of a country, especially for one held back from progress due to several social, economic, and political reasons. In the case of semi-developed Bosnia and Herzegovina, the country has a history of long-term sieges and wars that have made its public sector weak as compared to international standards. However, Naida Mehanović is one of the many citizens who are looking forward to revolutionizing their homeland’s public sector in whatever way possible.

With a population of almost four million, Bosnia and Herzegovina is a small country in Southeastern Europe with a low score for population growth and fertility rates. The downward trend is believed to be an aftereffect of the country’s economic turmoil and remnants of the Bosnian war during the 1990s. However, the change-making youth is steadily leading the country towards better economic conditions.

One of the exemplary progressivists is Naida Mehanović, who is an active supporter of public sector amelioration and suitable legal regulation in her country. Naida believes in change; she believes that progressive transition is the only way to upgrade the country’s circumstances. And this transition starts at the very heart of the country, that is the public sector.

While practicing law in different sectors, Naida is also the president of Sarajevo Canton Youth Council, an umbrella youth organization that gathers young individuals from the country without any discrimination and helps them in various matters like education, social development, and legal rights. Naida considers the youth to be the future of the country and an important element in the revolutionization of the public sector. That’s why she is actively working for the realization of student rights in B&H.

According to Naida, the lack of institutional and political determination to take a step in a positive direction is what keeps the country deteriorating. Moreover, she also actively emphasizes how the Law on Higher Education must end its discriminatory treatment of marginalized groups. Through the Youth Council, Naida represents and guides the younger generations to enable them to live in a society where she didn’t have the opportunity to live.

By becoming the voice of the B&H youth, Naida is contributing to the economic development and transformation of the country’s public sector. This transformation is not a physical one as it requires an overhaul of organizational structures, work processes, culture as well as mindset. Connect with Naida Mehanović through her LinkedIn profile for more inspiration and legal consultancy on various matters.
