Hospitality Entrepreneur Steve Sidd is All About Providing a High-Standard Product on the Plate

In the past few years, the entertainment industry has seen a significant rise in the creation of shows for television where the main focus is food. From competitive baking shows with professionals to competitions featuring inexperienced yet passionate home cooks, there is certainly no shortage of entertainment to choose from. Because of them, people have begun to show an interest in what is on their plate and what they put in their bodies.

“The quality of the food has to be really good because people know what they like. That’s what my business always comes down to – getting out good quality food,” says Steve Sidd. He is aware that people watching these shows know exactly what they want, and expect to be catered to accordingly.

For Steve’s family, when it comes to food appreciation, it is a family tradition. During his school years, Steve would help his father at their restaurant, and it didn’t take long for him to fall in love with the chaos and passion behind the scenes. As someone who lives and breathes food, it was no surprise when he opened his own catering company in 1996, Catering HQ. Since then the company has managed to create 26 dining concepts, opened more than 40 event venues, and employed 350+ staff members.

For someone who keeps up with the changing food trends, Steve and his team are constantly developing and researching new food ideas. He plans to stay ahead in the game, which has proven a positive characteristic. When plant-based food products, or vegan food as it is now commonly known, began to make an appearance, his catering company was one of the first in the industry to introduce the items on its menu.

When it came to his journey as an owner of a catering company, Steve had a little help from an easy-to-use catering management system that helped him keep track of the best products, suppliers, and costs. This brilliant software, as Steve claims it to be, is known as the Hospitality Genie. He was so impressed by how efficient and transformative the app was in helping him create quality food that he is now the co-owner of the company.
