Here’s What Helped OuttaPocketAli Overcome Immense Physical Disabilities as a Child

Unlike other children of his age, Ali did not have an easy time growing up. He belonged to an immigrant family and being a first-generation American Ali had to go through a lot of financial struggle. When boys of his age normally enjoy their lives, he was worried about making money and financial stability.

However, the financial crisis was not just it, at 5 he was diagnosed with GBS (Guillain-Barre syndrome). The disease caused him to be paralyzed and that was a rough patch for him and his family.

Ali had a hard time socializing and making friends due to his illness and as a child, it was not easy to go through that. However, he always had strong willpower and the ability to not give up even as a kid. It took him five years of physical therapy to recover from GBS. Those five years of his life were spent making friends and that helped Ali to keep going. He also found escape in comedy and humor, something that he enjoys doing the most.

Being physically unable to walk, write and do other things normally, Ali has some dark memories from his childhood. Despite being extremely talented and a child full of potential, his disease became a hurdle in his way. For the first two years in elementary school, he could not speak English. He constantly had to push himself but nothing was working out for him who had a miserable time in elementary school failing all his classes and constant behavioral complaints from his teachers. It came down to a point that his school tried to hold him back in Grade 2.

Ali’s parents were already struggling in settling down into a new place and managing their finances, and his disease made it even more difficult for them. They still made sure that their son gets the treatment he needs and that’s how Ali completely recovered from GBS. However, he was ahead of his age and his tough circumstances helped him mature and become responsible.

He understood the importance of life and his blessings and strongly believes in nurturing young people who can bring positive change into this world. Ali, at the age of 19 has become an inspiration with the way he dealt with his physical disability and became a gaming content creator at 13 with the intent to make money. With his unstoppable personality, he kept evolving and started his own clothing business OUTTA POCKET which happened to be a great success as the brand is built to be impactful and trendy for the customers.  He has set an example of how he turned his weaknesses into his strengths.
