Double Trouble: Hamilton And Leclerc Disqualified In Thrilling US F1 Grand Prix

In an electrifying turn of events, the United States Grand Prix witnessed a seismic shockwave that left Formula 1 fans worldwide both exhilarated and bewildered. Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, two of the sport’s most prominent figures, faced disqualification from the race, sending the paddock into a frenzy of speculation, controversy, and debate.

The F1 news world has been buzzing since the drama unfolded after the checkered flag had waved and the customary podium celebrations had commenced. The FIA, the governing body of Formula 1, dropped a bombshell announcement, revealing that both Hamilton and Leclerc were disqualified for technical violations.

Their cars’ skids, integral components to ensure safety and compliance with regulations, were found to be “not in compliance” with the stringent rules and regulations governing Formula 1.

Both Mercedes and Ferrari swiftly dispatched representatives to plead their case, attributing the skid pad wear to the unique combination of the notoriously bumpy Circuit of America’s track and the grueling sprint race schedule that left little time for thorough car inspection.

However, the FIA stood firm in its decision, emphasizing that it is the competitors’ responsibility to ensure compliance with the regulations at all times during an event.

The specific breach centered on the rear skid, as defined in the Technical Delegate’s report, a key element that was found to be outside the thresholds outlined in the specific rule that both teams had violated. The consequence was immediate and unequivocal: Hamilton and Leclerc were stripped of their hard-earned positions, shocking fans.

Hamilton, who had finished a commendable second behind race winner Max Verstappen, saw his efforts nullified, along with the precious points that would have boosted his chances in the World Drivers’ Championship. For Leclerc, who had initially clinched the sixth spot, the disqualification pushed him down to a disappointing seventh, trailing McLaren’s Lando Norris.

This sudden change shook up the championship rankings, especially for second place. Before the disqualifications, Sergio Perez was ahead by 27 points over Hamilton. But after the race, Hamilton closed in, making it a 19-point difference. It looked like things were shifting.

The FIA’s decision made a big difference. Perez is now 39 points ahead of Hamilton in the championship. There are only four races left this season. The championship story was going to be exciting, but it changed unexpectedly. It’s made this season even more thrilling.

Mercedes had brought their final upgrades of the season to the Circuit of the Americas, fueling excitement among fans and experts who believed the team could challenge the dominant Red Bull Racing.

The race was a nail-biter, with Verstappen facing brake issues in the closing laps and Hamilton relentlessly closing the gap. In Saturday’s sprint race, Hamilton had finished second to Verstappen, raising the anticipation for a fierce rivalry.

The disqualifications of Hamilton and Leclerc shook up the championship fight. Max Verstappen won his 15th race and nabbed his third Formula 1 title. Now, everyone’s eyes are on Perez, Hamilton, and Verstappen.

The Formula 1 world is on edge. Hamilton and Leclerc getting disqualified made things more intense in this already exciting season. The championship story changed suddenly, making the last four races a thrilling showdown between the top contenders. Fans can
