Digital Nomad – two words that perfectly encapsulate the brand and the person, Hussen Shambesh. He has meticulously divided his career into two counterparts, creating the perfect balance between profession and passion. On the one hand, he is an IT consultant in London, UK, and owns a company that he established after a few turbulent years and back-to-back failures. On the other hand, he is a successful influencer, content creator, travel vlogger, and drone enthusiast.
Hussen Shambesh was born to a Muslim family originally from Tripoli, Libya, but his family moved to the United Kingdom when he was two. He grew up against the lush urban backdrop of Manchester and became fluent in both English and Arabic. His upbringing was centered on both his indigenous roots and culture, as well as the society in which he was raised. As a result, Hussen turned out to be an excellent communicator with his grasp of two highly different languages and was well-liked everywhere. This enhanced his educational merit as well as his social outwardness.
When he graduated from the University of Manchester in 2009, Shambesh moved to London to become a part of the Fintech-boom economy. From then on, Hussen climbed the corporate ladder from junior to principal software engineer, technical lead, and even back-end developer. All the while, Hussen had aspirations to start his own company, which quickly turned into reality. Today, he runs his own IT Consultancy in London, with branches in New York, and has plans to expand it in the future.
Having grown exponentially in IT and Software Engineering, Shambesh joined Instagram in 2018 with a plan to document his travel excursions – the nomadic life he had always envisioned for himself. Soon enough, he had people pouring in to check out his unique content. For one, his content is bilingually pieced, usually in Arabic, with small bits in English. However, to accommodate his followers, he provides subtitles for his Arabic content, which fit perfectly with his videos. He is known as a luxury travel vlogger, so his experience is somewhat different from the other travel bloggers of his time.
In addition to his travel influencer project, he is also a great photographer who has sold over a dozen photographs to big agencies. His understanding of optics, space, and lighting makes his photos stand out. He is also a trained drone pilot and has done freelance drone work for organizations like Canal and River Trust. The supercar market is another space that Shambesh thoroughly enjoys and plans to venture into due to his growing fondness.
In his own words, Hussen’s goal “is to motivate others to go beyond their skill set and turn their hobbies into money-making projects.” You can check out his work on the social media links available on his website.
