The United States already has more than 1,000 cases that have tested positive for the coronavirus

31 deaths in the United States have now been linked to the coronavirus, and at least 36 states have confirmed cases, according to NYT

The number of new cases of coronavirus in the United States exceeds 1,000 on Tuesday night, as reported by The New York Times, indicating that the contagious disease has spread widely throughout the country’s coast-to-coast communities.

The first case of coronavirus in the United States was announced on January 21 in Washington state. But now it appears in all regions of the country, including Massachusetts where dozens of cases were registered on Tuesday and South Dakota, with 5 new cases, one of which has died.

Authorities are making decisions such as limiting large public gatherings and increasingly asking students to take classes online.

Large corporations are also deciding to increase the number of workers who can work from home, limiting the chances of spreading contagious disease.

People need to be prepared for some important changes in their lives, said a federal official.

Warnings to limit public interaction have prompted politicians to cancel or change campaign rallies, educators close school districts or tell college students to take classes online, and television shows and sports teams recognize that they may have to go a time without hearings.

Some of the country’s largest universities are also switching to online classes, hoping to contain the possible spread of the coronavirus.

And in a presidential election period, Democratic candidates are deciding to make presentations without an audience, as will happen in the next Democratic presidential debate in Arizona.
