Overcoming Obstacles – The Determination and Resilience of Dr. Tashinea Bernadin

In today’s society, many individuals face obstacles that can restrict their progress and make it nearly impossible to achieve their goals. However, only a few of them have the determination to rise above the noise and realize their dreams into reality. One such individual is Dr. Tashinea Bernadin, who is a shining example of determination and resilience.

Born to parents who were high school dropouts, and raised by a single mother, she faced many challenges growing up. She was bullied because she used to shop at thrift stores and lived on food stamps. Moreover, her father was deported when she was in middle school, leaving her mother struggling with raising her children all alone. Despite these difficult circumstances, Dr. Tashinea never lost hope. She pushed herself to be the best version of herself and set her sights on becoming a doctor.

However, her journey to medical school took work. She failed the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) five times. She faced discouragement from others who told her she would never be accepted into medical school. But she didn’t let their words hold her back and finally got into her choice of medical college.

After happily getting married in 2015, she struggled with being pregnant and failed three Intrauterine Inseminations (IUI) before finally becoming a mother after a successful Vitro Fertilization (IVF). Despite all these hurdles, she has come out on top and now she uses her lessons and experiences to help others.

Dr. Tashinea’s goal is to provide a retreat for young women who grew up in similar circumstances to motivate them to achieve more. She intends to share stories of women who have overcome adversities to achieve extraordinary feats on her blog and these retreats. Her dream of supporting other women stems from her own struggling childhood.

Her story is an inspiration to us all. She shows us that no matter what obstacles we face in life, we can overcome them with determination and resilience and achieve our dreams. Her example reminds us that chasing our dreams is always possible. She is breaking the barriers and proving to be a role model for all the young women who grew up in challenging circumstances. Follow her on Instagram to keep yourself motivated and inspired.
